Kate Conciatore, the secretary on the DDTC and representative for Ward 4, sent a recipe for Bavarian Apple Tart
Crust:
1 stick softened butter
1/3 cup sugar
1 cup flour
¼ tea. vanilla
Beat sugar, butter and vanilla well, stir in flour to form soft dough. Press on bottom and 1 ½ “ up sides of 9” springform pan. Chill while you make filling

Filling:
1 8 oz. cream cheese softened
¼ cup sugar
1 lg. egg
½ tea. vanilla
Beat cream cheese and sugar till smooth, add egg and vanilla, beat just until smooth. Set aside while you do apples.

Topping:
4 medium apples peeled and thinly sliced..I use macs, you can use others but golden delicious aren’t good for this.
1 ½ tea cinnamon (or more, to taste )
¼ cup sugar
mix apples with cinnamon/sugar mixture and layer over the cheese mixture. Sprinkle with slivered almonds if desired.

Bake at 450 for 10 mins. Turn oven down to 400 and bake 25 mins.
Cool on rack. Best served room temp.

Billy Taylor, a DDTC represetative from Ward 3, said he got this recipe from one of the young dems.
Blueberry Dump Cake
1 large can blueberry pie filing
1 box yellow cake mix
1 stick butter (melted)
½ cup chopped pecans (if desired)
½ cup brown sugar

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
In 9 x 13 pan pour blueberry pie filling on bottom. Cover with dry cake mix. Pour melted butter over top. Do not stir.
Bake for 20 minutes.
Remove from oven and sprinkle brown sugar and pecans (if desired).
Return to oven for 10 minutes or until golden brown.
